INTRODUCTION : 
The districts of the Sri Lanka are divided into administrative sub-units, know as Divisional Secretarats. These were originally based on the feudal countries. the corales and ratas. They were formerly known as DRO Divisions. After the Divisional Revenue Officer, later the DRO's became 'Assistant Government Agents' and the divisions were known as a AGA divisions. Currently the divisons are administered by a Divisional Secretary and are known as 'Divisional Secretariat'.

ABOUT VADAMARADCHY EAST 


01 Geographical Structure
 
The region located in the northeast of Maharashtra in Jaffna, famous for its Tamil culture, has a unique geography. In other words, in terms of geographical structure, this area is one of the coastal areas of Jaffna district in a long and narrow pattern. From Vallipuram in the north to Sundikulam in the south it is about 53.5 long and 2.5. It also has width. It is bounded by the Indus Ocean to the north, Thondamanaru estuary to the south, and surrounded by fresh water straits to the east, with the western boundary being the Vadamaratsi region. The region is comprised of 39 villages under 18 village officer divisions from Manatkadu to Sundikulam.

Limestone boulders and bedrock types are also coastally sandy and Thondamanar coastally silty clay with some siliceous formations. Although surrounded on three sides by sea and sea water, the entire territory is rich in fresh water. It is also significant that this region, which is rich in natural resources and rich in heritage and mainly consists of textile-based coastal area, Mullaisar forest and Maruthamsar field as a minority, has not been greatly affected by the war disasters and natural crises that have occurred over time and is working diligently in rebuilding itself today.
 
 
02 Social Organization and People's Life
 
According to the geographical structure of the area, people are functioning as social groups based on their occupation. In particular, the fishermen who depend on the sea for their livelihood are the majority and the farmers who do plowing in the south are the main communities. Apart from these, there are other small industries, trade and a group of people who are involved in the swindling business called Chival.According to the regional religious system, Hindus and Catholics mainly live here. However, today, due to the change of time, many non-Catholic Christian congregations are also being formed.
If we take the education sector, this region has excelled in education since then till today. Due to this, many government officials are also increasing here. Both high schools are functioning as secondary and primary schools.This is education. This area is characterized by traditional culture, which is structured by religion, professional social structure. Natural resources of the region also influence this. In particular, Nagercoil Native Nagathambiran Temple, Manakadu St. Anthony's Temple, Bullaveli St. Sebastian's Temple, Sundikulam Bird Sanctuary are listed as heritage symbols recognized by the Department of Antiquities. Apart from that, there are also oral stories that prove that the Cholas ruled the region.Thus it is a bird's paradise and a sandy area. In the historical period, the people of this region are still maintaining many national cultural traditions.
